What’s fucked up is they even do this with unemployment income and long-term disability income too. Even food stamps.

It’s never “OK you’re making enough to not be on this anymore, so we’ll stop giving it to you.”

It’s always “You’re making enough to get along WITH the financial assistance you were getting – *maybe*, probably not – so now you’re not going to get it, putting you right back to square one – total financial crisis.”

AMERICA.

And on student loan applications (FAFSA mostly) they literally demand that you count up pocket money, money in your wallet, and money sitting around the house, and add that as a separate category. Because we all know if you have more than 5 cents sitting around you’re rich enough to go without help!
